To Read or Not to Read… A Medical Intuitive Perspective

There is something to the current thinking about removing negative vibrations from your environment.  Think positively and speak positively is the mantra of the day.  Remove any source of information that you find negative.

This kind of thinking has some gurus telling people to not listen to the news as it is negative.  Many people have told me they don’t listen to the news because it is so negative.  They get the news they need to hear anyway.

Yesterday I read a little online article in the Wall Street Journal about a Buddhist Monk who is being deported.  The reason for his deportation?  He applied for his green card within the proper terms set to him.  The US government denied him permanent U.S. residency, or a green card, on the grounds that he was employed without authorization after his temporary religious visa lapsed.  You can read the article here.

It is an outrage what has happened to this country.  In the name of homeland security, we are making it difficult for Buddhist monks and other religious/spiritual people to enter the country and teach because they may be terrorists.  In the name of homeland security, we are deporting Buddhist Monks and other religious/spiritual people because they are receiving food and a place to sleep from their communities which is being perceived of as employment.

This type of thing can only happen in the United States when its citizens don’t read the newspapers, don’t speak up, and don’t vote.  When our people are so afraid of bringing negative vibrations into their lives that they are blind to what is happening around them.

It is my opinion that if you are choosing to be a conscious, spiritual person you must become a person who works towards creating consciousness within your community, country and world.  Those gurus are wrong.  Read the papers, bring in the “negativity” allow it to move you toward active consciousness.

What’s your opinion?

  • As I look over this blogpost, I realize how appropriate it is for the Iranian Elections. Every day I speak with very conscious people who's spiritual practice and compassionate viewpoints are magnificent. Unfortunately, I am saddened by how many of these same people who are passionate about freedom, justice and peace have no idea what is happening in Iran. Buddhists are always saying "WAKE UP!, WAKE UP! Please become aware of the world around you to assist in creating change. Become a conscious enlightened activist.
